When you take a model to a skate park...

When you take a model to a skate park...

By Samantha Rebuyaco

Asymmetric Magazine: Tell us about your contribution.
Samantha Rebuyaco: I've always been fascinated with duality; and even more so, pairing two unlikely worlds together. Born and raised in LA, it's clear that I'm a product of my environment. The fashion and skate culture are two major characteristics that compose Los Angeles. It was from this one photoshoot with model, Kota Eberhardt, that those two worlds spontaneously collided. (wardrobe: Liz Montecastro; makeup and hair: Arlene Antoinette)

AM: What inspires you most?
SR: To put it simply: people. There's certain things about people that inspire me... like the way they talk, their mannerisms, or what they care about. I can make up a whole story in my head about why they do the things they do. But that's never shared explicitly and for my creative use only!

AM: What else can we expect to see from you?
SR: This project actually spurred a whole other project that I'm working on, using the same concept. It's going to be a little bit of a bigger production with even more skate, and even more fashion. It will be soon published on Asymmetric–stay tuned!
